May the 4th be with you
I may be the luckiest lady in the world. Okay, so let's just say God definitely made P'jones for me. While we were saving money with coupons eating breakfast this morning, p'jones says it would be cool if I used my blog to record how much money we save using coupons. While I don't have the patience or the memory to go back and track from January 1st, I can go back to May 1st. Mission accepted.
You may have overheard a conversation or two about our theory that Kohl's decided that now that we registered for our wedding, we were theirs, and thus stopped sending us $10 off coupons. Seriously, I don't know when the last time I saw one was and it was starting to really make me reconsider our wedding registry there. I'm overly dramatic on that, but I appreciate their Kohl's cash, coupons for Kohl's card carriers, and (most of all) their save $10 just because you are alive coupon cards. To start the month out right, Kohl's showed us some lovin and sent us a $10 coupon card and p'jones and I were off to entertain ourselves for an hour or two shop. Before we could even get in the store, we were greeted by a beautiful (and FREE) sunset, courtesy of God, and, yes, we both busted out our cellphones to take pics. Then it was off to get an uber cool sausage dog shirt and a Godiva bar. Totally free. Would have been $15.25! And Pudding even got a his chocolate. You will be seeing me in this shirt a lot this summer.
Yesterday we went to Suwanee Town Center Park for Jazz and....drum roll please... food trucks. So these food trucks are apparently all the rave right now, and I have had this on my calendar for our date night for, oh, probably at least a month. Then we see rain clouds. PERFECT! No seriously. If there's a chance of rain, Georgians lock themselves up at home at nights and on the weekends (except to go to the MOG, but don't get me started there). We were wrong. Apparently people LOVE these freaking food trucks. The trucks that were out last night were: Smiley's Street Eats, Nana G's, King of Pops, Poor Huey's Hotdog Co, and One Love Jerk Grill. Nana G's has chicken and waffles, which is now apparently our favorite food duo, but their line was the longest. The shrimp po boys at Smiley's caught my eye right away and was a good deal as it was HUGE and came with fries for $10.50. Being smart, this guy is an engineer :), we decided to split two meals and buy the first one from the shorter line. Then we would eat this as we stood in line for the second meal. Long story short, we were two from the front of Nana G's, had finished our poor boy (as I insisted on calling it) when the
Which brings us to today. We decided to take some coupons to Einstein's for BOGO egg sandwiches but were distracted by their new bagel clusters. Can you say monkey bread for breakfast! And guess who had a promo coupon for a free cluster? That's right, this girl. $1.95 saved and we received a survey that will score us a free drink on our next visit. Can't wait to use our BOGO egg sandwich coupon to buy one sandwich and get a drink and 2nd sandwich free. I am contemplating signing up for their e-newsletter to receive a free bagel and schmear. Schmear is just a gross word, so I'll wait.
Picked up my car from it's oil change on the way home and used a $14 coupon. The guys had already given me the Treleven family discount, so they took off another $4. Score!
Ran to Jarrod's to get my ring cleaned and pick up presents for the wedding. Used the $100 giftcard they sent us. It was pretty much BOGO and I doubt that recipients will care when they see how cool their gift is.
