Penny Item Day > Valentine's Day 2013

February 14 just another day to me a day to celebrate love. As my older sister pointed out, this was going to be my only Valentine's day engaged. So, p'jones and I decided to celebrate... by doing something I we LOVE: couponing and not deviating from the list (unless it was on sale and we had a coupon). 

First stop, Walgreens to cash in a free DVD from the box that is red. Here Comes the Boom - BOOM: Entertainment for free. How sweet is that! After stopping inside Walgreens and finding they did not have the free item I had a coupon for, it was off to Publix.

In case you overlooked it, Valentine's day was on a Thursday this year. Thursday's = Penny Coupon Day at Publix day. The penny item was a 4 pack of toilet paper. 

Sidebar: I have been *warned* to announce when I swap out tp in the house. I chuckled then proceeded to pull one square of tp from each bathroom and perform what I shall call the finger test. Although visually, I determined each square was the same type of tp, my toilet paper expert of a fiance determined the square from the master bath was the weakest link. How? Because when he jabbed the crap out of it, it ripped the most. ha, I made a funny without trying. 

Sidebar #2: I must say I am very proud of my shopping partner. He needed food for lunches (really, do you have to eat every day?) and was stationed at the tuna fish coupon dispenser collecting coupons so that "when this goes BOGO, we can get paid to buy it!" Ladies, he's MINE!

$67.69 worth of groceries for $25.62 = 62% savings.
